Site construction

This site is pure dynamic XHTML, created with the assistance of homegrown tools written in PHP4.

All the outgoing web pages on this site are compliant with the W3C standard for XHTML and CSS2.

Testing was done using several browsers and operating systems. It is not easy to get things looking right under all conditions.

All file editing was done using :w Vim, clearly the very best editor around.

Graphics

You may notice less graphic content here compared to many other web sites. This is consistent with my belief that excessive use of graphics is a waste of bandwidth. However, the menu to the left was created using Xara Webstyle 4, an excellent package, even though I am forced to rely on Microsoft Windows for its use.
